Ingredients

  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 C thinly sliced onion
  • 2 T. steak sauce
  • 1/2 C sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 C sliced green pepper
  • 2 (14-oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
  • 1 to 2 T. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 C noodles (elbows, ziti or no-yolks)

Method

  • In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the onion and green pepper in the olive oil.
  • Brown lightly.
  • Add the ground beef and cook slowly, breaking up with a fork.
  • Meanwhile, cook noodles as directed on the package and drain.
  • Add the steak sauce, mushrooms, stewed tomatoes, paprika and pepper to the beef mixture.
  • Simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Add the noodles to the beef mixture and stir.
  • Serve with warm Italian bread or rolls.
