Ingredients
- 1 lb. round steak
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 large green pepper, cut in strips
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 Tbsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. hot water
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- cooked hot rice
Method
- Cut steak in narrow strips, brown slowly in oil about 15 minutes.
- Add
- onion
- slices (separated in rings). Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir and cook 5 more minutes.
- Add hot water. Cover
- and simmer until meat is almost done;
- about 30 minutes. Add
- green pepper strips and cook 10 more minutes.
- Uncover. Add
- mixture
- of
- cornstarch,
- water
- and
- soy
- sauce, stirring together.
- Bring to a boil stirring constantly for 5 minutes or until thickened.
- Serve over rice.
