Ingredients

  • 1 beef, round steak
  • 1 garlic toe, chopped
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 4 c. cooked rice

Method

  • Mix garlic, soy sauce and ginger in a bowl.
  • Cut round steak into strips and soak in mixture for 10 minutes.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil and over high heat, toss beef until brown.
  • Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, celery and green pepper; cook, tossing once in awhile, for 15 minutes or until tender.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water, add to steak dish and stir. Serve on fluffy rice.
  • Serves 6.
