Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 18 c. dry cereal (mixture of bite size wheat, corn, rice or toasted oat cereal)
  • 2 c. nuts (cashews, peanuts, mixed nuts, etc.)
  • 6 c. powdered sugar

Method

  • Melt butter and chocolate chips in medium sized heavy saucepan over low heat; stir to blend.
  • Place cereal and nuts in large bowl.
  • Pour chocolate mixture over; mix until cereal and nuts are thoroughly coated.
  • Turn chocolate mixture into very large bowl or dishpan.
  • Sprinkle sugar over, 2 cups at a time, carefully folding and mixing until thoroughly coated.
  • Makes about 24 cups.
