Ingredients
- 2 (8-inch) pastry shells (unbaked)
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 c. dark molasses
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. boiling water
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- Stir together flour, sugar and baking powder.
- Cut in butter. In a separate bowl, mix molasses, baking soda and water.
- Stir in salt, egg and two cups of flour-butter mixture.
- Pour into prepared pie shells and sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
- Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
