Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. Karo (light or dark or mix) syrup
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine, melted
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Grease jelly roll pan.
  • Beat flour, sugar and margarine until crumbly.
  • Press firmly in pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes, or until golden.
  • Prepare filling by stirring eggs, corn syrup, sugar, margarine and vanilla until blended.
  • Stir in pecans. Spread evenly over crust.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 minutes, or until set.
  • Cool.
  • Makes 60 (1 1/2-inch) bars.
