Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. light Karo
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, broken
  • 1 unbaked pie shell

Method

  • While preheating oven to 350°, toast 1 1/2 cups of pecans with 3 tablespoons of butter in an empty pie pan, stirring often, until golden brown.
  • Watch closely because they burn easily.
  • While pecans are browning, in an electric mixer bowl, break eggs.
  • Mix slowly while adding Karo, brown sugar and vanilla.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • Gently mix in pecans and butter.
  • Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until set.
