Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp.vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 stick butter
  • dash of salt
  • 9-inch pie shell

Method

  • Brown butter in iron skillet.
  • Remove from heat and add the sugar, stirring until well blended.
  • Mix eggs and corn syrup with sugar and butter.
  • Beat thoroughly.
  • Add vanilla, salt and chopped nuts.
  • Mix well.
  • Place in unbaked pie shell.
  • Cook for 10 minutes at 425°.
  • Reduce heat to 350° and cook until a silver knife inserted in center of filling comes out clean.
  • Good.
