Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 pkg. whole pecans
  • 1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening

Method

  • In a large saucepan, combine the first 4 ingredients.
  • Cook over medium heat until all sugar is dissolved.
  • Gradually add milk and mix well. Continue cooking until reaches 248° or firm ball stage. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
  • Fold in pecans.
  • Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper lined cookie sheets. Chill until firm. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in microwave. Drizzle over clusters.
