Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. crunchy peanut butter
  • 2 c. crisp rice cereal
  • 1/4 c. oleo
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar

Method

  • In a large saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup and salt.
  • Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Blend in peanut butter; stir in cereal.
  • Pat evenly into a square pan.
  • In a small saucepan, melt oleo and brown sugar.
  • Remove from heat; add milk and vanilla.
  • Stir in powdered sugar.
  • Beat until smooth.
  • Spread over cereal mixture.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy.
  • Makes 2 dozen.
