Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. soft butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 c. peanut butter
  • 2 eggs

Method

  • Cream butter; sift in flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add peanut butter and 2/3 cup milk.
  • Mix until all flour is dampened and then beat 2 minutes at low speed.
  • Add rest of milk, eggs and vanilla.
  • Beat 2 more minutes.
  • Pour into 2 (9-inch) cake pans lined with wax paper or rectangular cake pan.
  • Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.
  • Cool completely and frost with Peanut Butter Frosting.
