Ingredients
- 1 c. Karo syrup
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. raw peanuts
- 1 heaping tsp. baking soda
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Combine sugar, syrup
- and water in 4-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil on medium heat.
- Boil for 5 minutes. Add butter, peanuts and salt.
- Boil until thick, stirring constantly.
- Drop a little bit in cup of cold water.
- If candy cracks, it is done.
- Turn off stove. Add vanilla and baking soda.
- Stir. (Be careful, mixture will bubble up and pop a little.)
- Pour into 2 buttered 9 x 2 x 13-inch pans.
- Let cool.
- Break into pieces.
