Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 7/8 c. water
  • 1/3 tsp. lemon juice
  • 8 c. canned pie fruit (undrained)

Method

  • Mix sugar, cinnamon, flour and salt in dry bowl or pan.
  • Mix water and lemon juice together and add to mixture.
  • Add pie fruit. Fold gently.
  • Measure approximately 1 quart per unbaked pie shell.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Cover with top crust or lattice top and bake about 40 minutes at 400°.
  • Makes 2 (9-inch) pies.
