Ingredients
- 4 c. sliced fresh or canned peaches
- 1/4 c. margarine, softened
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. boiling water
Method
- Place peach slices in an 8-inch square pan.
- Cream margarine and 3/4 cup sugar.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Spoon mixture over fruit. Sift together remaining 1 cup sugar, nutmeg and cornstarch; sprinkle over batter.
- Pour water over top.
- Bake at 350° for 60 minutes.
- Serve with whipped topping or ice cream.

- 6 servings.
