Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt or less
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 3 1/2 c. flour or more
- 1 egg, well beaten
Method
- Heat water enough to melt shortening. Add shortening. Cool to warm. Add salt, sugar, egg and yeast.
- Mix. Add flour and mix. Stir until it draws away from the bowl. Cover to rise.
- Punch down and knead lightly; let rise again. Turn out on board and knead until elastic.
- Roll out and cut or pinch off in rolls.
