Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 strips bacon
  • 1/2 stalk (medium size) celery, diced
  • 1/4 medium size onion, diced
  • 1 pt. oysters
  • 1 qt. milk
  • dash of Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 Tbsp. butter

Method

  • Fry bacon crisp.
  • Remove and place on paper towel.
  • Discard excess grease.
  • Dice celery and onion.
  • Saute in remaining grease until tender.
  • Add oysters and liquor in pan and heat until oysters curl.
  • Have milk heated and when oysters have curled, stir oyster mixture into milk.
  • Add Old Bay seasoning.
  • Add butter. Crumble bacon and sprinkle on top of stew after it has been dished into plates.
