Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup oleo
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 12 slices bread (may use Texas toast)
- 6 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Method
- In a small saucepan, combine corn syrup, oleo and brown sugar.
- Simmer until syrupy.
- Put in bottom of 9 x 13 baking pan. Lay slices of bread over syrup.
- Beat eggs, milk, vanilla and salt.
- Pour over bread.
- Cover pan and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Uncover pan and bake for 45 minutes. Serve hot--can be reheated.
