Ingredients

  • 1 (3 to 4 lb.) thick chuck steak (preferably no or little bone)
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 medium potatoes
  • 3 medium onions
  • 10 carrots
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 bay leaves

Method

  • Brown steak in hot oil in skillet until both sides are medium brown.
  • Place meat in large baking pan.
  • Add concentrated soup and fill up each soup can again with water.
  • Pour over meat.
  • Add bay leaves, salt and pepper and sliced onions to pan.
  • Cover tightly and cook for 1 hour.
