Ingredients
- 2 c. onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 2 c. beef stock
- grated Parmesan cheese to taste
Method
- Saute onions in butter over low heat for 20 to 30 minutes until tender and transparent.
- Blend in flour, pepper and salt and cook over medium heat, stirring until bubbly.
- Remove from heat and stir in milk and stock gradually.
- Return to heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Add Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly for 1 minute, then serve.
