- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 lb. beef stew meat
- 1 large onion
- some garlic powder
- 4 c. boiling water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. worcestershire
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 - 2 bay leaves
- 6 carrots
- 6 medium potatoes
- 1/3 c. barley
Method
- Brown meat, add onion, garlic, boiling water, and spices. Simmer until meat is tender. Add vegetables and barley. Simmer until done. If using a crock pot: after browning meat put all ingredients into a crock pot and cook on low 7- 8 hours.
