Ingredients
- 1 lb. beef stew meat
- 2 c. chopped carrots
- 2 c. chopped potatoes
- 1 small chopped onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Brown beef in shortening in skillet.
- Add 2 cups water. Simmer for 2 hours, or until tender.
- Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour longer.
- Thicken liquid for gravy if desired.
