Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups KRAFT Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 pkg. (7 oz.) elbow macaroni, cooked, drained

Method

  • Melt butter in medium saucepan on low heat.
  • Stir in flour and salt.
  • Cook 2 minutes or until bubbly.
  • Gradually stir in milk until smooth.
  • Stirring constantly, cook on medium heat until mixture boils and thickens.
  • Reduce heat to low; simmer 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add 1-1/2 cups of the cheese; stir until melted.
  • Stir in macaroni.
  • Spoon into 1-1/2-quart casserole.
  • Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
