Ingredients
- 1 c. quick oats
- 1 1/3 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Method
- Add oats to boiling water; let stand 20 minutes.
- Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add the oats mixture and sifted dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
- Bake in a greased loaf or square pan for 30 to 45 minutes in a 350° oven.
- Pour on topping and put in oven for 5 minutes.
