Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 c. onions, diced
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 c. clams
  • 3 c. clam juice
  • 2 c. half and half
  • 1/2 lb. potatoes, diced

Method

  • Saute onions in butter.
  • Add flour and cook 2 minutes.
  • Let cool.
  • Cook potatoes.
  • Set aside.
  • Bring clam juice to boil.
  • Add hot clam juice to flour mixture.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Reduce heat.
  • Add clams, potatoes and half and half. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes.
  • You can also add shrimp and scallops to recipe.
