Ingredients

  • 1 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 finely chopped nuts (optional)

Method

  • Put butter and sugar in a pan over medium heat. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon. Cook until mixture reaches a rolling boil and is a toffee (light tan) color. Immediately pour mixture out onto a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil. Use the wooden spoon to spread the mixture to the ends of the sheet. Immediately after that, pour all of the chocolate chips onto the the mixture and use the wooden spoon to spread them the the ends. The heat from the mixture melts the chocolate. Then top with nuts if wanted and chill overnight. Break into bite sized pieces and enjoy.
