Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef (round) or ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 large clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (12 oz.) cottage cheese
  • 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 (8 oz.) lasagne noodles
  • 1 Tbsp. green pepper

Method

  • Cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until beef is brown and onion and pepper are tender.
  • Drain well.
  • Stir in next 7 ingredients; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes; stir occasionally.
  • Mix next 5 ingredients, stirring well; set aside.
