Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown rice rinsed & drained
  • 1 cup quinoa rinsed & drained
  • 1 cup wheat berries
  • 1 cup oats, steel-cut
  • 11 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 each apples peeled, cored & diced

Method

  • All everything to a greased, large size slow cooker.
  • Cook on low overnight (about 6 hours was enough for me); or on high for 4 hours.
  • The original recipe suggests adding additional dried fruits, like raisins or cranberries in the last hour before serving.
  • I topped mine with some maple syrup sometimes jam or preserves that I have, whatever is handy works well.
