Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 c. sifted flour
Method
- Blend shortening, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
- Sift together in separate bowl the soda, cream of tartar, salt and flour.
- Slowly beat dry ingredients into shortening mixture until well blended and texture is creamy.
- Drop by 1 teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.
- Press cookie dough with a fork dipped in cold water.
- Add sprinkles if desired.
- Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
