Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. warm water
  • flour (enough to make non-sticky dough)

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in a little warm water.
  • Heat milk to melt shortening.
  • Add sugar and cool to lukewarm.
  • Warm water; add salt.
  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Add flour to make a non-sticky dough.
  • Cover and let rise in warm place.
  • Punch down and make into buns.
  • Let rise again and bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes according to size of buns.
