- 1 large pkg. mostaccioli noodles
- 3 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 large can whole tomatoes
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 c. fresh mushrooms
- 1 c. dry red wine
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Method
- Prepare mostaccioli noodles according to package directions. In a heavy pan, brown ground beef and onion in oil.
- When almost cooked, add chopped garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and wine, stirring frequently.
- Add basil, salt, pepper, parsley and mushrooms.
- Add cooked mostaccioli; mix well. Pour into baking dish; top with grated cheese.
- Cover; bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
- Remove cover for last 10 minutes of baking.
