Ingredients

  • 1 large pkg. mostaccioli noodles
  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 large can whole tomatoes
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. fresh mushrooms
  • 1 c. dry red wine
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Prepare mostaccioli noodles according to package directions. In a heavy pan, brown ground beef and onion in oil.
  • When almost cooked, add chopped garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and wine, stirring frequently.
  • Add basil, salt, pepper, parsley and mushrooms.
  • Add cooked mostaccioli; mix well. Pour into baking dish; top with grated cheese.
  • Cover; bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Remove cover for last 10 minutes of baking.
