Ingredients

  • pinto beans, cooked
  • cornbread
  • onions
  • pepper (hot)

Method

  • On any Tuesday or Thursday, call Robert Robinson around 11:00 a.m. and say "Beans".
  • Be prepared to leave in 15 minutes.
  • Go to Moore's Drugstore and order pinto beans with not too much juice and not too many beans so as to leave room for cornbread, onions and pepper relish.
  • Either chop Robert's homemade peppers or use Buddy and Dean Travis' hot pepper relish.
  • (Not for those who don't like it hot.)
  • Place peppers, onion and 1/2 piece of cornbread, crumbled, into pintos.
  • Stir slightly.
  • Best if eaten with an egg-olive sandwich, no slaw and lots of cold sweet tea with plenty of good friends.
