Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 6 c. flour (plain)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 stick melted margarine

Method

  • Completely dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  • Set aside.
  • Mix Crisco, sugar and salt. Add boiling water. Cool slightly.
  • Add beaten eggs and mix.
  • Add flour and yeast alternating.
  • Mix thoroughly. Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
  • Flatten on lightly floured board until about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Cut with biscuit cutter. Dip each piece in melted margarine and place in alternate layers in Bundt pan. Cover and let rise until double. Bake at 300° about 1 hour.
