Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. Crisco
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. boiling water
- 6 c. flour (plain)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 stick melted margarine
Method
- Completely dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
- Set aside.
- Mix Crisco, sugar and salt. Add boiling water. Cool slightly.
- Add beaten eggs and mix.
- Add flour and yeast alternating.
- Mix thoroughly. Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
- Flatten on lightly floured board until about 1/2-inch thick.
- Cut with biscuit cutter. Dip each piece in melted margarine and place in alternate layers in Bundt pan. Cover and let rise until double. Bake at 300° about 1 hour.
