Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 pkg. (12 oz.) chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 lg. island eggs
  • 1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped *

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325F.
  • Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) and set aside.
  • In a large pot combine butter, sugar and water.
  • Remove from heat just before it comes to a boil.
  • Add half of the chips (1 cup) and the vanilla.
  • Beat with a wooden spoon until chips are melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Add eggs one at a time beating well after each one.
  • Blend in flour mixture about 1/3 cup at a time.
  • Beat well.
  • Finally mix in the remaining cup of chips and the chopped nuts.
  • Spread in a 9x9x2-inch pan and bake 30-35 minutes.
  • Cool completely before cutting.
