Ingredients
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1 pkg. (12 oz.) chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 lg. island eggs
- 1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped *
Method
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) and set aside.
- In a large pot combine butter, sugar and water.
- Remove from heat just before it comes to a boil.
- Add half of the chips (1 cup) and the vanilla.
- Beat with a wooden spoon until chips are melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time beating well after each one.
- Blend in flour mixture about 1/3 cup at a time.
- Beat well.
- Finally mix in the remaining cup of chips and the chopped nuts.
- Spread in a 9x9x2-inch pan and bake 30-35 minutes.
- Cool completely before cutting.
