Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. water
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 c. flour
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 heaping c. shortening
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
Method
- Warm milk and water; add sugar and yeast.
- Stir until yeast dissolves.
- Add 2 cups flour and beat until smooth.
- Leave in warm place 20 minutes or 1 hour.
- Add sugar, shortening, warm water, 3 1/2 cups flour and salt.
- Use a big spoon to mix.
- Set back and let rise until double.
- Punch down; roll out and spread with butter, sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up into long roll; cut off 1-inch pieces. Place, spaced apart, in greased pans.
- Let rise again.
- Bake at 350°.
