Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. unsulphured molasses
  • 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3/4 tsp. ginger
  • 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 c. sour milk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  • Cream shortening, sugar and molasses.
  • Add eggs; mix well. Sift together flour, salt, soda, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  • Add small amount of dry ingredients and mix until blended.
  • Stir in sour milk, nuts and chocolate chips.
  • Mix in remaining dry ingredients.
  • Drop from tablespoon on cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
