- 3/4 c. boiling water
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. salad oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 7 unbeaten egg yolks
- 1 c. egg whites
Method
- Combine the boiling water and the cocoa and let it cool.
- Set aside.
- Sift together in a bowl the flour, sugar, baking soda and the salt.
- Make a well and add the salad oil, egg yolks, vanilla and the cooled cocoa mixture.
- Beat until smooth.
