Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 12 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares, melted
  • 6 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 13 teaspoon baking soda
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 14 cup baking cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 13 cup brewed coffee

Method

  • combine all ingredients in order listed -- mix well.
  • drop by tblsful onto ungreased baking sheets, bake at 350* for 10 minutes.
  • cool on wire rck.
  • frost --
  • makes about 1 1/2 dozen.
  • to prepare COFFEE FROSTING:.
  • combine the first 3 ingredients, gradually blend in coffee until desired spreading consistency -- is reached.
