Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 4 whole eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pkg. miniature marshmallows
- 1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
Method
- Cream sugar and shortening.
- Mix in eggs and vanilla.
- Sift flour, cocoa and salt together; add to first mixture and mix well. Stir in pecans.
- Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for about 45 minutes at 300°.
- Remove from oven, turn oven off and spread marshmallows over top of cake; return to oven for 10 minutes or until marshmallows melt.
- Cool, then ice.
