Ingredients
- 2 c. rolled oats
- 1 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. moist mincemeat
- 1/2 c. ground pecans
Method
- Put oats through food chopper on coarse blade.
- Add flour, soda and sugar.
- Mix thoroughly. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Divide into 2 parts.
- Pack half firmly in oiled 7 1/2 x 11-inch pan. Spread mincemeat evenly on top, then add remaining dough and pack firmly. Bake in oven at 350° for 40 minutes. Cool good.
- Cut into 14 to 16 bars.
