Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. peanuts

Method

  • In microwave-safe bowl, combine sugar and corn syrup. Microwave on High 4 minutes; stir.
  • Add nuts and blend well. Microwave on High 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 minutes or until mixture is light brown.
  • Stir in vanilla and butter.
  • Microwave 1 minute.
  • Add baking soda and stir quickly to blend.
  • Pour immediately onto buttered, foil lined cookie sheet, spreading quickly with wooden spoon.
  • Cool for 30 minutes.
  • Break apart.
  • Store in airtight container.
