Ingredients

  • 1 wide, soft loaf French bread, sliced (take out some of inner part of bread)
  • 5 tsp. olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • black pepper, oregano and basil to taste
  • 1 bell pepper, in rings
  • 1 small onion, in rings
  • 1 tomato, in rings
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese

Method

  • Drizzle olive oil on bread.
  • Brush garlic on bread.
  • Sprinkle black pepper, oregano and basil to taste on bread.
  • Layer bell pepper, onion, tomato and Provolone cheese on bread.
  • Add layer of sliced black olives.
  • (May add any sliced meat of choice, if desired.)
  • Wrap in plastic wrap 1 to 4 hours before serving. Serves 4.
