Ingredients

  • 1- 1/2 pound Ground Beef Or Turkey
  • 28 ounces, weight Can Whole Tomatoes, Chopped (reserve Juice)
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 1- 1/4 cup Instant White Or Brown Rice
  • 1 can (15 Oz. Can) Black Beans, Drained And Rinsed

Method

  • Brown ground beef or turkey in skillet.
  • Drain fat and return meat to skillet.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato juice (add enough water to make 1 1/2 cups total), onion powder, and chili powder.
  • Mix well and bring to a boil.
  • Add rice, cover, and reduce heat to simmer.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes or until rice is tender.
  • Add black beans and heat through.
