Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. rice, uncooked
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. bacon grease
  • 1 whole cabbage
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 can water

Method

  • Make meat balls from the first five ingredients.
  • Boil a whole cabbage for 5 minutes.
  • Take whole leaves and wrap meat balls in them.
  • Chop up remaining cabbage in small pieces and place on bottom of pan.
  • Lay meat balls wrapped in leaves on top.
  • Pour chopped tomatoes on top and add water.
  • Let simmer about 45 minutes.
