Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 4 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Method

  • Place oil in saucepan.
  • Saute onions until transparent.
  • Add tomato sauce, garlic powder, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.
  • Reduce heat to low and cover.
  • Simmer 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan, if desired.
