Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. fresh ground organic dark turkey meat
  • 2 28 oz. cans organic tomato puree
  • 2 28 oz. cans organic crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 carrots, small dice
  • 3 celery stalks, small dice
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 8 oz. sliced mushrooms
  • 4 T. each chopped, marjoram, oregano, parsley, basil
  • 1/2 c. dry red wine
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Method

  • Heat olive oil in large pot. Saute garlic,carrots, celery, onions until slighly soft. Add turkey meat to brown. Add all remaining ingredients and simmer low for about 2 hours. Sauce is always better next day, but if you can't wait, it is still a treat! Make extra and freeze to have on hand.
