Ingredients

  • 1 bunch romaine lettuce
  • 1 (8 ounce) can mandarin oranges (whole segments in light syrup)
  • 12 of a red onion
  • 12 cup mayonnaise
  • 13 cup sugar
  • 14 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seed

Method

  • Cut or tear lettuce into bite size pieces.
  • Thinly slice the red onion.
  • Drain liquid from mandarin oranges and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Gently toss together in a large bowl.
  • Wisk together all dressing ingredients until sugar is dissolved and texture is smooth.
  • Pour dressing (amount to taste) over salad and serve.
  • Note: Dressing can be made a day ahead and refrigerated.
