Ingredients
- 2 c. hot water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 yeast cake
- 1/3 c. lukewarm water
- 5 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Mix salt, sugar and shortening together.
- Then add 2 cups hot water.
- Mix with flour.
- Let rise to twice its bulk.
- Knead and cut into rolls.
- Let rise 1 1/2 hours.
- Bake at 400° until brown.
