Ingredients
- 30 g (1 oz) unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon plain (all-purpose) flour
- 250 ml (9 fl oz/1 cup) milk
- 60 g (2 1/4 oz/1/2 cup) grated low-fat tasty cheese
- 350 g (12 oz/2 1/4 cups) macaroni, cooked
Method
1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Blend in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
2. Remove the pan from the heat and gradually blend in the milk. Return to the heat and cook, stirring, until the sauce boils and thickens.
3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Add the grated cheese and stir until melted. Mix the macaroni through the sauce.
