Ingredients

  • 2 c. macaroni
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • about 3/4 lb. Velveeta

Method

  • Cook macaroni until tender, drain.
  • Place in ungreased 2-quart or layer casserole.
  • Make white sauce by melting butter.
  • Don't scorch, melt over low heat, stirring in flour to make paste. Slowly add milk so not to lump, stirring constantly (turn off heat while you stir).
  • Cut cheese into chunks and add to sauce.
  • Cook over medium heat.
  • Stir to keep from burning.
  • Pour over macaroni. Bake at 350° to 375° for 45 minutes.
