Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. corn oil
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 4 oz. egg whites or substitutes
  • 3/4 c. honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. cold skim milk
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 7 1/2 c. flour (may vary)

Method

  • In large bowl, combine oil, hot water and honey.
  • In small bowl, combine beaten whites, salt and skim milk.
  • Soften yeast in warm water.
  • Add contents of small bowl to large bowl mixture, then add yeast.
  • Stir in 6 cups of flour; knead until smooth and elastic, adding flour as needed to make dough smooth.
  • Lightly smooth top of dough with oil.
  • Cover with cloth; let rise until double in size.
  • Punch down and shape rolls as desired.
  • Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Let rise until double again.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in a 400° oven.
  • Makes 4 dozen.
